The Highlight Reel – 2009 and 2010 movements

What’s good everyone,

Another year and another decade (wow) is about to be in the books! We always talk about how time flows. When you live in the moment time goes on forever, and along the same token, you can blink and time will pass you by. I took a little time to reflect on this year to highlight some accomplishments.

  1. Blogworld presence - I celebrated one year of Streetztalk in April, and that was a great personal accomplishment. admiringly, my site content has dwindled somewhat. it dwindled, however, as a result of other moves I made. I became a part of Examiner.com reporting on different aspects of sex and relationships. I earned a spot on the Singleblackmale.net roster as a result of my posts on examiner and Blogxilla, and now I’m the every Wednesday writer. I’ve done a few guest posts for threewaystotakeit.com as well. I joined twitter, and almost 40,000 tweets later the impact can still be felt. that site helped MANY a day pass by and helped to further cement my place on these internets. I also became a part of a new hip hop site, thefoxxfiles.com. I put in a lot of work and saw the fruits of my labor blossom before my eyes. It’s a blessing, and I look to continue to do great things
  2. I travelled a lot this year. i finally hit Latin America and made my return to MIA. I realize that I love travelling and plan to make even more moves in 2010. Its refreshing, relaxing, and great to have new experiences. i can’t wait!
  3. My job was secure in a tumultuous year for the company. As always, i was happy to be employed, but that excuse for no bonuses, raises, or promotions is getting tired. I’m definitely looking to make a mark in 2010 in one way or another.
  4. Family is in great health and we all are looking towards bigger and better in 2010. I pray that they can reach their goals and i can help in any way I can.
  5. My personal health was good this year. A few minor injuries, along with discovering that i have allergies to shellfish, smh. All in all a great look for me healthwise overall.
  6. My workout plan fluctuated in 2009. I look to be 100% consistent next year. No excuses no slacking. This goal is 5 years in the making and I need to accomplish this Next year!

I can’t say that I experienced major harship. I struggled with the idea of success and I realized that I have to have defined goals, and meet them. I’ve acheived a lot over my life, but it’s time to realize that new level of greatness! Relationship stuff hasn’t been prevalent. I got hit with a few #swindles from females but that’s life. I’m extrememly happy where I am now, and that’s what matters. As my dad taught me, all things will come in time, be patient and take care of what you can control. Wise words from a decent man!

As far as resolutions go, Im not big on them. What i do is write out some goals for the year and look back monthly to see my progress. This year I accomplished about 1/4 of everything I hoped to achieve (not taking into account any shifts in goals or disinterest with any hobbies, etc). I look to make realistic goals and achieve them.

90% of resolutions fail because we make them, and then forget. If you are serious about these resolutions, check on them daily/weekly/monthly and make sure u stick to them! It’s the only way to be great!

I also hope in this upcoming year i develop a distinct voice for this site and stick to it. Any suggestions definitely let me know. I thank you for all the support this year, and promise you that 2009 is only the beginning. its time to be better than our best!

Happy New Year!

Aight…aight…see ya making moves in the writing game.

And yeah, this decade went by FAST…it seems like I was just a freshmen on campus yesterday.

I hope the creativity in rap picks up in the next decade.

    We…will…see

As far as resolutions…I AM the resolution…hahahahaha

I'm also not big on resolutions. I was until I realized that they were the same every year, and never met. What I do have is a list of goals taped to the front of my planner. This has been very helpful, because I have to look at the list before opening to my daily/weekly/monthly agenda.. Great post..& Happy New Year when it arrives..
