Workout Log: Day 24
So it’s been a little over 3 weeks since I’ve started the P90X program, and I must say it continues to impress me. The workouts are dynamic and constantly switch up! I started the recovery week and when I tell you that’s a deceptive name for this week I’m not lying. This week challenges your cardiovascular fitness and endurance. The quote of the week: “I hate it, but I love it!”
Body wise I see minimal changes, but it’s to be expected in the preliminary stages of the program. I take my 1 month pics on Tuesday, So I’ll let you know how those are looking. This program hasn’t been without trial and tribulations.
Missed Workouts:
The Ab Ripper-X defeated me this go around. Some I couldn’t complete, and I missed like 2 sessions. Not proud of myself but I plan to make those the last ones I miss. I won’t get better unless I perform these movements! I also missed a couple of the Yoga-X sessions. There’s 2 this week so that’s my “punishment” lol. That exercise I must say I loathed the most, but I understand it’s importance and don’t plan on missing anymore.
Eating:
My eating habits need to get better. I did an assessment of the types of food I ate over this past 24 days and it was average, but not the normal level of healthy eating that I do. I like the nutrition plan that P90x has, but I got super results with the Men’s Health Abs Diet plan coupled with Tom Venuto’s plan on Burnt he Fat, Feed the Muscle (which got me into great shape when I first started working out). So in order to maximize results, I will combine that nutrition plan with the P90X. My only fear is losing TOO much weight, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see (pun 1/2 not intended)
Flexibility:
I swear the people on this DVD are all either Olympic gymnasts, martial arts masters, or world renown contortionists. Some of the stretches, especially in Yoga, are crazy! I’ve always wanted to be SUPER flexible, but this poses the biggest challenge for me. I hope throughout this process I gain the flexibility they have. Hard work will pay off!
Like my buddy Jesse over at FitnessofWealth.com says, I’m just going to “Keep pressing Play” and march on. My goals lie <70 days away and I can’t wait!
Walk With me,
Streetz
P.S. I did the core synergistics workout and when I saw Drea Weber, Adam, and Pam with Tony, I started saying prayers of mercy. Luckily, I survived to type this message!

Hey I wanna do the P90X to! But you are making me not want to do it now, lol. We will see…
#1 Where have you been Jay!!
#2 U scared? Trust me I've gotten stronger and more fit. Im hard on myself [||] when it comes to 'seeing results" so we'll see when I take pics. I'm def in btr shape then I was 24 days ago!
Wow!! I am impressed at ur commitment to make it to day 24, like I said on Twitter "it only takes 21 days to form a habit, and apparently u have formed a habit of doing Power 90X pretty much every day or so. Congrats on that and the so far results. I have Power 90 at home, didn't upgrade to X because it just seems a lil too much for my body, but I know Tony. But I had sexy legs and thighs in Summer of 06. Lol. Anyways, keep it up I'll be checking in periodically. Remember: Pain is weakness leaving the body.
Thanks homie! Keep me honest!
Oh wow. Thanks for this! I am going to have to go through your older posts and read to get the full picture. This guy at work was trying to put me on to P90X. He said the variety of the workouts keeps you from plateau-ing. I have about 10-15 lbs I want to get rid of and then just tone from there and live a healthier/more active lifestyle overall.
Can't wait to see the pics.
Streetz,
Glad to see you are staying strong with your workouts. Keep pushing play bro and do your best to improve your diet. I have been doing tons of research into helping people with their diet, check out my newletters for some great tips once a week. Keep in mind that diet is like 80% of how you look. If you want to get ripped you have to stay away from the crap and start fueling yourself the right way. Keep pushing play!
I am impressed by your effort with this workout log. I think it is working good for you. yes definatly you will get much more benefit if you will combined the exercise with the diet and follow in the way it ias instructed.
Yeah I agree joy!
I miss lifting weights though in the gym. For the rest of 09 Im going to be weight training + the Cardio P90x exercises. THen in 10 im gonna go from Jan – March cover to cover! Can't wait!
